I need 05 TRX450R suspension advise
I ride an 05 TRX450R in the dunes, on the track,on rocky mountain trails, love to climb hills, ride wheelies, and jump anything and everything. What i'm trying to say is we ride all over and everywhere we go we ride hard and fast. I'm not saying we are all that or that we are pros, but when we are out jumping, we usually keep up with most of the guys on their dirt bikes, and on a quad, thats saying something. I have never rode a quad with any aftermarket suspension parts to compare to, but want to upgrade mine. I dont want it super wide or super long, maybe a little wider and a little longer, just a little more stability and better shocks for those big jumps when your frame hits the ground. Any and all advise on what suspension parts would help me most would be outstanding.

I have an 04, 450r. I bought plus 2 A-arms, and had thestocker shocks redone. The shocks went to works, and for just under $400, I am completely happy. In total the front end was $800, cheap but good. If plus 2 is a little wide, get 1 out 4 in front wheels.

I mainly just do the dunes with that set-up. I am a 260 pound phat guy, and rarely see quads out jump me. 3rd and 4th gear jumps, all day long. Works will ask what set-up you run and where/what you ride. They will be set for you.
The work I got was triple rate springs, and re valved.

If you just want a "little" wider, get wider tires and rims with a greater offset. I run ITP Holeshot XC's on ITP Baja rims, and it makes me +3" in back and +2" in front. A nice increase in stability, but not so wide that the quad can't be trail ridden anymore.
I have Works aftermarket shocks on my 400's, and my 450 stock shocks are every bit as good as the aftermarket, especially when it comes to landing big jumps. If anything, they are more tuned (stiff) for jumping than they are for cross-country.
