300 EX Exhaust advise plzzz
#1
I just got a 300 ex the other day. the exhaust on it is a graydon proline which is loud as hell... and we ride at night so we want to keep it quiet so my question is, is there a high perfromance exhaust out there that is quiet .. or somewhat quiet that will give me extra hp and is a slip on exhaust. im not wanting to have to jet the carb so the slip on i'm told would be good or just go back to the stock exhaust, which im not crazy over myself. Also can anyone tell me if the graydon exhaust is good or bad performance wise and whats it worth .. i cant find anyone on the web that sells the graydon exaust at all.. so im guessing they dont make it anymore.. im fairly new to riding so any help would be appreciated.

I had the Supertrapp IDS2 Quiet core on mine and liked it, not too loud at all. Rejet no matter what or you will not get even close to the benefit of the pipe. The IDS2 quiet is a full system BTW.

Same here, got my son the IDS 2, quiet core, not noisy, just a deep, throaty sound, easy to tune with discs for noise or power, good complete system, pipe and all, to get decent performance, you need a complete system, the stock 300ex head pipe is real small, too restrictive to get much out of with just a slip on.
