Default 400 suspension setup

I would appreciate some help on setting up the stock suspension on my 2000 400ex. I ride mostly in the sand dunes. I have tried the front shock on the highest setting and ther rear cranked down but that rides extremely hard. I know have the front shocks on medium and the rear real soft but I can't seem to find a good balance. The bike handles like a tank. I have ITP sand tires in the back and front. Bike is mostly stock except for DG slip on, K&N air filter with outerware and open air box. Any tips?

My advice is to have a full day where you can take it to the place you ride the most and be prepared to spend some time fine tuning your adjustements. Take a run, feel the ride, tune it a little and then repeat. It takes a while but you will find what's best for you by the end of the day and you will also know a lot more about your Quad.
