330 ex vs. 400ex!!
#12
I have a 300ex (well it now has a 250x lower end but that is a different story) that has an FST 395cc motor with everything done to it. And, yes I've beaten my share of 400ex's, banshees, 250r's ect... But I have also been beaten by them. Every one can say why waste the money, but when I bought mine and had the motor work done. the 400 ex was just a dream. Yeah I could of bought a 250r but I'm just not into riding 2 strokes. My whole point is who cares what the magazine says

i personally use to have a 330ex.....and i have 2 friends with 330ex's the full race kits from ct, and have raced 2 others in my life time....i can safely say they are pretty much the same speed as a stock 400ex with pipe, filter mod....i dont think it jsut so happen we tied almost every time with all 4 bikes....400 has more top end too, it just seemed the 330's pulled longer through the first 3 gears....they are nice though i loved mine, but am fixing to put a 416 in mine and will pretty much be pulling the fenders off those 330s

The 330's that I've ridden have had around 33-35HP and were a bit quicker than a stock 400. However, a modded 400 with the same amount of money in it as most modded 330's will be quite a bit quicker, at least in my personal experience. With the mods to my 400, I can run with most of the modded 250R's in the GNCC's (NOT the pro-bikes however... those things are scary fast!). And as with any argument of power, there are many more factors involved in deciding which is faster. A bike that is a little down on HP but with a superior chassis and equal riders will usually come out on top in all but a drag race.
