Which A-arms?
#1
I am planning on buying new shocks and extended a-arms for my 400EX. Which combo would you guys suggest? I was thinking probably TCS shocks. What about a-arms? Are any of them better than others? I have looked at about all the brands, but can't really decide. A friend has Laeger a-arms on his 250R, and he really likes them. What do you all think? Thanks.

If your rich go for Axis/Roll. They run for $2500 complete set (arms, hardware, shocks) But with 14" travel and the best shocks in the world, you cant go wrong. If not that than Laeger/PEP ZPS. Or if your on more of a budget, Burgard/TCS or Works.

i just put the axis/roll lobo front end on. it is sweet looking. It has oversized balljoints and tons of travel. Roll design is the best you can get and axis makes a great shock.this front end is the top of the line for a 400ex

i think like a lot i guess roll/axis is the best but if you are not going to race and do not need the best then go for Laeger arms and tcs will work better than you should need and if you are going to ride and/or race mx go for leager that is what all of the pro's use and there a little lighter i think.

don't buy laeger unless u wait till they get the ti pin front for a 400ex. there ball joints bust on there regular a-arms and the stock bolts for a-arms don't fit through the bushings. So laeger sends you American sized bolts that are seven thousandths smaller than a 10 mm bolt(stock size) causing it to waller out the bolt hole mount on your frame. plus my friend i ride with has laeger and he busted the bottom ball joint and broke his femer and his arm.i would go with roll/axis. it's a great setup for anybody and you would love it. (steppin off my soap box now)

Believe me, I'd love to get the Roll/Axis combo. I just can't afford it. I'm looking for a fairly cheap setup. Can anyone help?
P.S.- In Golden West Cycle's new catalog, they have a combo that has Lonestar a-arms, Works Triple Rate fronts, and brake lines. With res., the combo is $1099.99. Without the res., the setup is $949.99. Would this be a good setup? Also, are there any specific problems with LSR a-arms? Thanks a lot.
