Default 400ex engine in a trx450r frame

hey, does anyone know if a 400ex engine will fit into a trx450r frame without making any major mods to the frame?

Probably would have been cheaper to simply buy a running 400ex.

Pretty sure the mounts are different. You could make it work, but like Greg said, be cheaper to buy a 400, and you'd have a spare motor.

So if you do get in it in, and don't get the sprockets aligned, that chain going into the crankcase may put you back at square one again.

But with tools, time and money, anything can be made to work.
