Ok I wont go into why I need to replace them but yes I bent my stock 400ex bars this weekend, My delema is I've read what people posted about different bars but I'm just not for sure. I ride trails mostly so far, I'm 6'1" so hopefully this gives you some idea as to maybe what might be best for me and I would like to keep the price to a minimal but Im not looking for plastic hadlebars either so.................people with your advice what bars should I get ?

I am 6 foot so my stock bars on my 450 were too low. I ride alot of trails also. I recently put Tusk bars on it and like them so far. They are about half inch wider and an inch or so higher so they are more comfortable for me to ride.

Do you guys know If I need to get a extended steering stem or do you think the stock will be enough, the reason I'm asking is the stock bars have a bigger bend to them and sit higher than the after market bars that I came across and like. I'm only asking because I cant buy a few pairs and try em all out to see whats the best fit so I'm just trying to get some input from you guys.

What year is your quad? The reason I ask is I had the same dilema when I bent mine. I have an 05, and I wanted to keep the key and lights in the same spot, so any bars with a crossbar wouldn't work. I actually bought a pair of pro tapers atv high and liked them, but was not able to mount the console that holds the key and lights. But it felt a lot better than the stock bars. I ended up just getting the stock bars for now. But the guy at the honda shop was saying that a lot of guys go with the tag t2 bars with the cr bend. They are 1 1/8 bars so you need to get an adapter to mount them as the stock bars are 7/8 diameter. From what he was saying was with the adapter and the bars, it is just a little highter than the stock bars, which is what guys like us that are 6'+ would like. Jerry

I have the 05 and I was also wondering about the cross bar because the fmf 909 has it, I like the renthals and the pro tapers they dont have the crossbar but seem to sit a little lower than stock but I dont want to replace my steering stem either...........ooo the delima

From what the guy at the honda shop was telling me was there is an adapter that actually goes on the original stem.
It does not replace it. What it will do is add a little to the height of the bar. I think 3/4 in. And he was saying in regards to the tag ts bars along with the adapter that it will sit higher than the original bars. This is what I was talking about. Hopefully the link will work. Jerry
