The HRC kit is exactly what you need

you, being stock, could take the 04 TRX already. the 06 engine is more potent than a slightly modded 04/05 engine. the stock 06 450R can take the 04/05 450R WITH their 'powerup'/HRC kits...add the HRC kit for YOUR bike and you really wake it up.

if honda installs the HRC kit for you, their warranty still covers things.

The HRC kit does require more maintenance for sure than stock. If you want power you are going to have to get off your duff and maintain your quad a little more often. Most noticeably will be cleaning your air filter and changing your oil more often. Also, you will have to change out your piston and rings sooner than if it was stock. Well worth it for me though.

Also, you can make any of the 450's out there faster than the others with a few mods. The '06 will compete with any of them mod for mod. Stock for stock you should pull the z450. You will just have to be more modded than him and you will be him. The HRC kit will put you well ahead. Don't let him get the upper hand
