My first quad

I just got my first quad, a '03 400EX. I didn't really ask a lot of questions when I bought it, but I know it was treated good (got it off a family friend for $2,000!!!). I'm going to get it serviced, and I was wondering what's worth having done, and what I can do myself. I'm somewhat mechanically inclined, but no pro. I was thinking of having the valves, clutch, and throttle adjusted at a local shop. I plan on chaging oil, lubing chain, and cleaning filter myself. Is there anything else I should worry about, or have checked out??

Grats on new quad it sounds like a good price.
Looks like you have the basics covered id have checked out, might not be a bad idea to have a shop do first time but after that Id get a service manual and do it your self, none of its very difficult.
Then its mod time and there is alot of stuff out there for a 400ex so keep the wallet open lol
