12 TOOTH SPROCKET 300ex
On a stock machine, pretty bad, you would lose top end because you would be hitting the extremely low rev limit on the stock cdi. When I put 20" tires on my son's 300ex, it ran like k-rap, lost power because you had to constantly shift to keep the rpms down, if you let it rev like the stock tires, it would skip and miss because of the stock rev limit. I had to go up to a 14 tooth front sprocket to restore proper gearing and rpm range. With a modded cdi with raised or no rev limit, you could put a 12 tooth up front, but all it would do is give you a little more acceleration, at the cost of top end, and you would be revving it more, putting more strain on the motor.
