just did the first oil change on the foreman...(6.5 hours)when i shined the light into the oil drip pan it looked a little metallic, like paint, so good idea to change the oil within the first few rides..

I would guess that the metal flake paint looking stuff is probably assembly lube (as that's what the tube of stuff I use looks like) but it's still a good idea to do the first change a little early IMHO.

Press and hold the Trip/ODO button and the Reset button at the same time.

the specs are .006 i think, but if you bought a service manual it would tell you step by step, plus exactly what tools are neede and a time frame for how long it should take.

In a nutshell, you remove the seat, side covers, fuel tank cover, fuel tank, and a little heat shield under the fuel tank. Make sure things are clean so no dirt will fall into the engine, and remove the caps on the valve cover, and remove the inspection plug on the side of the engine.

Looking through the inspection plug you will see the flywheel. Turn the engine with the pull rope until a T appears in the window. If there is slack in both valves, they are ready to adjust. If there is no slack, then the valves are in overlap at top dead center between exhaust and intake stroke, so you will need to turn it one revolution to get TDC between compression and power stroke. Valves should be adjusted with engine cold.

This is just a summary, and I'd also highly recommend getting the service manual.
