New Foreman Oil Change
Honda has a vested interest in presenting their machines as being "low maintenance", so they are always going to give maintenance intervals that are based on ideal conditions........which don't really ever exist in the real world.
If you want to do it right, do an oil and oil filter change very early on, like at 1 hr. This gets the metal shavings out of the enigne early on. During break-in, use a petroleum oil like Maxima Premium or if you can't find that, Honda GN4 will do. I do another change at 5 hrs., and then again at 10 hrs. Then I switch to a synthetic oil (Maxima Extra).
