where is a good place to buy factory honda parts, i am looking for a head for my 04 400ex, the valve cover screw holes in my head are stripped out and causing a leak.

I buy all my parts from service honda. Factory parts, but cheaper than a dealer. Plus, they always have parts for my CR500 that the dealer can't even get. I just checked for ya:

Cylinder head: $335
Cylinder head cover: $140

There's a couple on ebay right now, 99-06 will fit.

Youve got nothing to loose, by trying to heli -coil those threads. If you botch the job....you were gonna toss it anyway. These arent the most critical threads, you can always goop up the gasket with black rtv, if the head still leaks.
But it should be extremely easy to do yourself. Bring one of the bolts in to the napa or whatever, and they can get you the correct inserts, and tap.
You can always bring it in to the local school which has a machine shop class, and most any of the students will do it for cheap, if youd rather not do it yourself.
