Default 300ex carb problem

Alrite, i have a 2001 honda 300ex. The problem is, its leaking out of the overflow pretty bad. After im done riding i will look and half of my swingarm is wet with gas. Ive took the carb off and cleaned it, and just today i put a new needle in, and no luck either. There is either dirt in it or the float is bad, but iu checked the float and it seemed fine, no leaks. So im pretty stumped. But most likely its dirt in it, any help is appreciated.

had the same problem a week ago. bought a new needle, didnt help, i tapped it, tried all different ways to start it, didnt work. use some carb cleaner, it may help. if not, take it into the honda mechanic, they cleaned it out fairly quick. works perfect now.

Check the carbs float setting, it may need adjusting which is very simple. Check the float valve to be sure it's returning to the out position properly. Also check the bottom of your float bowl. There is a tube that runs up toward the carb body from the overflow tube. If it's broken off or cracked it will leak out the tube too.

I'd say the floads stuck on overflow OR the float bowl seal is not in right.......OR it's torn
