OT: CR125 Has Weak Spark
#1
I know this is totally off-topic, but I wanted to get the opinions of some of the great minds here. Trying to sell my CR125. It has a very weak spark, but we just put a different, but used stator in it. Is it that this stator is pretty much crapped-out too, or what are the other possibilities?

First, check continuity through the boot. CR's have a way of working loose. If the wire from the coil is stiff, then it's time for a new one. It should be soft and flexible. Unscrew the boot, cut an inch off and put the boot back on. See if the spark gets better. It could also be as simple as a weak ground on the coil. Check that the frame doesn't have any rust or paint where it's grounded. Clean it up, sand down to fresh metal and reattach the ground. Lastly, check the resistance on your coil and your air gap on the pulse generator. Make sure it isn't dirty. My CR500 needs to be set at 0.030 away from the raised portion of the flywheel. Good luck, pm me if you need anything else!
