Default 650 Rincon information

I may have a chance to buy a 650 Rincon, it is either a 2005 or 2006, not sure. It is carburated not fuel injected and it has the gps option. I was just wondering what the good and bad points are to these bikes. I haven't had any utility Hondas so I'm not to familar with them. I do know this bike has under 10 miles on it, has sat for a year, and there is no extended warranty with it (it was a prize someone won and they don't like 4-wheelers )

I tried searching Honda's site, but am not sure I'm finding the right models, everything on there says the rincon is a 675 and this guy is sure his is a 650.
Are these liquid cooled or air? I found some tie rod problems during a search..??
Any information from some top notch Honda riders would be great.

What you are looking at is an 05. From 03 to 05 they were 650. The 06 is fuel injected and is 675cc (called 680). All Rincons are liquid cooled. I am not aware of any tie rod issues on Rincons. There were some on the 05 Foremans. Honda uses some of the toughest tie rods around.
The early Rincons (03 to mid 04) had some transmission issues. It was a problem with o-ring failures and a new material was chosen. Also 03s had some water pump problems that was corrected back then.
Rincons offer a great ride and superior handling. Honda actually puts it in its own catagory now; Recreation. Not sport or utility. The one thing about them that some people have a problem with is engine braking or lack thereof.
It will only slow you down to around 8-10 mph.
I absolutely love mine and would not trade it for any quad out there.
How much do they want for this one? It should not be over $5500 because there are still some new 05s out there for that price.

I'd shoot for the $5,000 range, not sure if 10 miles is still considered used or not. I've yet to find a trail I couldn't get up or down but as stated, the engine braking is on the weaker side. On a very steep grade mine hovers around 12-13 which is about twice what others will hold at. The ground clearance is excellent, you can ride through some pretty deep water.

He won this in August of last year so it is probably a 05 or maybe a leftover 04.
Might be good idea that I ride it down a couple hills just to see how different this engine braking really is, doesn't sound to bad, nothing you guys mentioned sounds to bad to me. I'm sorta used to shooting down hills from bikes

Not really sure at all on the price, but I was thinking 4500 as my highest offer.

If there would happen to be a recall on this bike from Honda would I still be able to get that taken care or do they do something different with their recalls on bikes not owned by the original purchaser?

Thanks for the information!

Quadracer

Go to RinconRiders.com. You can find out anything and everything on the Rincon. It is an awsome machine. The engine brakeing is not a big deal. You have seperate front and rear brakes so use them. No need for the engine brakeing. People say they are underpowered but also not true. It is a single cylinder engine while all other big bores are v twin or twin. The Rincon produces almost as much power as the bigger quads just not as much torque. It will easily hang with a sp700, bf650 and kingquad. It will pull the front wheels up with little to no effort. It shines on the tight fast trails because it is lighter than any other utility out and it handles much like a sport quad. Although with no front diff lock it is a good mudder but not as good as alot of the other big bores. You can lock the front diff by tapping the front brake because of the front torque sensing diff it will send power to bothe front wheels. I have never had a problem with not having all 4 tires spinning.I have a sp600 and the sp600 is awsome at mudding. You cant go wrong with the rincon.

$4500 would be an awsome deal if it only has 10 miles, new MSRP for the GPS version was nearly $8K.

Buy it. You won't be disappointed. As everyone has said the Rincon is an awesome machine. No the engine braking isn't that great, but to me engine braking is annoying. If you let off the gas with a 4 wheeler with it, it throws you forward. This gets tiring after a few minutes. The Rincon can do wheelies, and can be modded to perform even better. The best part is NO BELT to get wet or break. They are stone cold reliable. Handling is second to none. And they look good too.

Thanks everyone! I'll check out that website, but from what I heard on hear I'll stop down this weekend and see what can be done.

I'm in central ohio, about 25 minutes north of cambridge, I'm not good with directions so I'm not sure where the rincon is.
