hey guys i have a 400ex and the carbs or something seem to be messed up and it is pissing gas out the over flow and it quits alot what would the problem be

 

Sounds like the floats needle and seat is sticking, it may have a piece of dirt in there. or the float is adjusted too high. 10 to 1 says it's a piece of dirt in the needle and seat. Remove carb and give it a good cleaning.
