04' Honda Rincon Rearend Noise
#1
I m having the rearend on teh rincon make weird noises , especially when backing up . I think it might be the disk brake on the rearend driveshaft . There seems to be slop there when moved back and forth by hand . Is this assembly suppose to be rubber mounted ?
Or what might be the problem ?
Thanks,
D.

There was a guy on RinconRiders.com that said something about chatter on the rear disc. Apparently the rivets had a little play in them. I think he put a piece of metal on one side and tapped the other with a hammer to tighten the rivets.

yes, when I reach under between the rear fenders and grab ahold of the rear disk, I can move it radially without the drive shaft moving . Is this disk just held onto the rear driveshaft joint by rivets ? It looks like to me, that some kind of rivets are worn and allowing this movement. Has anyone else had this happen and cause noise that can audibly be heard ?
I just don't know how this is mounted to the drive shaft.
Does anyone have a page out of the service manual that shows the parts and how it is mounted ?
If so, I do have windows messenger if they would be so kind as to send me the file.
Thanks so Much,
D.
