This Fall and winter ill be looking for a good used rincon. Im looking for one of those deals with just a few hundred miles on one were the seller just used it for hunting or just needs money. Im lookin at all the year all the way up to the present but prefere an 04 or newer. I know all the pros and cons about ride, handling, and all that jazz. I just want to know if there is any problem areas i should check into if i find a good deal. First year flaws also that i should know about on the 03s. I would rather buy new and that is a poss but i would like to find a good used one with not many hours and miles to some some bucks. I also am interested in the rubicons and foremans(05 and up) but only if i get the best deal imaginable because im really wanting the mighty rincon.thanks[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

 

The only issue I'm aware of is a oil pump seal that caused transmission problems on some of the early ones.

Other than that, just check the normal stuff... Runs/shifts/rides good, service records, wheel bearing, axles and everything tight, nothing bent in the frame/suspension, no leaks knocks or smoke...

 

The oil pump thing is the only thing i have alse ever heard of.

 

The 03s and early 04s had some transmission issues. Also they had a water pump problem. This was corrected with a different weep hose. I have an 05 with 1600 plus miles and no problems. But other than them 2 problems I've never heard of anything else.
