Torque from an 03 Rincon vs an 06 500 ES?
#1
Can anyone tell me what the torque specifications are for the 03 Rincon, versus the 06 foreman 500? I have a friend who swears that his rincon has more ft/lbs of torque delivered at the axles than my 500, but why is it that everyone says the Rincon cannot pull tires in heavy mud like the 500? everything I read says don't get the Rincon if you love mud because it does not have the low end to turn the big tires in the mud.. Can anyone help me understand the difference in the 2 bikes and the torque and how it is delivered so I know how to argue with him?

If you go to Rinconriders.com you will read the opposite. Almost everyone there muds the Rincon and they dont have problems. I do alot of mudding with mine and never have a problem spinning the tires. Although it does not do as well as my sp600 it still does pretty good. It seems the belt drive on the 600 helps keep the rpm's up higher while the rincon is lower but still spins pretty good. It all has to do with the tranny setup not so much with hp. If the Rincon had the foreman tranny It would be awsome but the Rincon is not the workhorse. It is the sport ute while the foreman is the workhorse.

Yeah that is what I had heard pretty much. I heard that with the tranny in the 500 it has more low end torque for pulling the big tires in the mud. I know that cc's or hp doesn't matter in the low end torque delivery. I always heard the transmission on the Rincon was awesome, it just didn't have that solid low gear like the others, therefore not delivery as much torque.

Its not more torque. Its torque multiplication from the Foremans lower first gear. Its just geared lower than the Rincon. As 2manytoys said, the Foreman is the workhorse and the Rincon is the trail rider. The Rincon does have enough torque that it will wheelie with me sitting ON the gas tank.
