Default Discussion about the new '07 Honda's

Anyone care to speculate when and if Honda will ever enter into the UTV market? I would love to see their version of a Ute. Perhaps something with EFI and power steering. It drives me crazy to not have a Honda option while I am shopping for a UTV. I just can't bring myself to buy a Polaris or Yamaha. The thought of waiting another year for even an announcement from Honda is baffling, let alone how far off delivery would be after the announcement. Honda is soooo painfully slow.

why does everyone want powersteering on a quad? (very different than a car without powersteering - weighing TONS, so dont go there)

EPS encourages less experienced riders to become more passive and "sit there and steer". ATVing is an active sport, no way around it.

Because when you add after market wheels or wheel spacers the handelbars have a tendency move when landing from crawling over a log, over rocks over stumps.....that 2" spacer or offset is really a lever used by the wheels to yank the bars out of your hands

According to this, there will be two models of the Foreman ES. the ES and the EPS. The EPS adds a $400 premium and only comes in red.

This seems very un-Honda like. I suspect they intended to introduce this on all Foremans NEXT year and rushed the EPS to market as a result of the new Grizzly.
Neither Honda nor Yamaha developed that power steering unit....they both got it from the same source, and licensed it for themselves. Yamaha just happened to be the first to release it on a quad. Whatever manufacturer wants to add it to their utes, only needs to pay the manufacturer, and re-design the steering stucture and frame to accomodate it.

I would be intrested in what hondas world wide numbers are when it comes to units sold to farmers and such.
Why can't Honda offer different versions of a machine similar to what Kawasaki did with the Brute Force? One Rubi with IRS and a locker...one without. They need to do more with the Hondamatic tranny instead of that 3 speed thing they came up with for the Rincon.
