Appears that the affected Rancher models are only going up $200 in price according to Power Sports Network.

The new Rancher is about $700-$800 less than the smaller engine, all drum brake 400AT................anyone want to buy a 05 Rancher AT?

So from what I understand there is still the Rancher 400AT right? Now they have a Rancher 420. Why would Honda make two quads so close in engine size? Honda needs something in between the Rubicon and the Rincon.

While I haven't seen one in the flesh, does anybody else think the new Rancher is UGLY???? I have always disliked the Eiger's styling, and the Rancher sure reminds me of the Eiger!

I still haven't seen a price for the 07 in any of Honda's stuff..............

i agree with you reconranger.. the new Rancher does not look appealing and definatly reminds me of the Eiger. But i disagree with what alot of you are saying.. First of all, i dont think the new Rancher is THAT heavy, like i've aleady said. Second of all, i know the new Rancher got bumped up in engine size, but i dont think its in a new class so to speak. I think its in its own class. I mean, i would put it in the 400cc class if anything, NOT the 450.. It seems like Honda went with the engine size they did(420) so that it would kindof be in a class of its own.. I mean, i know we havnt driven this new quad, so we dont exactly know how fast and how speedy it is, but if its like a typical Honda, I dont think we can compare this engine or ATV as a whole with the quads in the 450cc class.. But some will.

I COMPLETELY agree with the statement about there needs to be a machine in between the 700cc Rincon and the 500cc Rubicon! I've ALWAYS thought this. And this goes for most manufacters. NO ONE has a 550cc quad. Or even a 600cc or 625cc etc... I WANT SOMEONE TO COME OUT WITH A BIG BORE MANUAL!! If not just a little big bigger than a 500cc! I mean, if some other manufacter or Honda came out with, say, a 2008 Honda Foreman 600 ES or S, i would be the first in line for that. Or if they'd bump the Rubicon up some that would be awesome. Hopefully someone will try this.

Also, alot of you talk on here like your much smarter than Honda. haha i think they know what they are doing. They are going to put the features we want on their quads year by year, or every 2 years. And we WILL buy them. I mean, they're very smart. Thats why they're still #1. I can guarentee we'll see IRS on another quad from Honda within the next 2 years. Diff Lock may be longer than we want, but i think Honda will come out with their own system similiar to Polaris or Bomb, like an Automatic locking Diff, instead of the typical diff lock. But i could be far off with that one, so i wont even guess that will happen.

Last, and i cant believe i've typed this much, I think Honda has all the disposals to have the Ultimate ATV. Im going to list some features of an imaginary quad that we' probably all want, and probably will never see, but its all things Honda could do. Here it goes, and this is just for fun.

2008 Honda Rincon 750/800 EFI GPS/w EPS
- (EFI) Electronic Fuel Injection
- (EPS) Electronic Power Steering
- (GPS) Global Positioning System (optional of course)
- (IRS) Independant Rear Suspension
- Hondamatic Tranny (from Rubicon)
- Powerful 750/800cc Engine
- Traxloc 4x4 (or some other type of 4wd system)
- All the color options they have now including Camo
- etc...............

All these options and things that only Honda has, like (GPS) and their Rubicon tranny, etc... And some options that i may be forgetting... I mean i know Honda probably would never put all of these things together in one Quad, because they would probably be ALOT of Gismo's lol.. But still, I think it would be the ATV of the DECADE....

The 400 class includes 450s. The 450 Foreman only had 427 or so cc.

Interesting that they went with an OHC design. They always bragged about their pushrod engines having a low center of gravity, etc......interesting that they changed it. Also, the pushrod engines are known for their low end grunt (classic utlity), where OHC engines are more known for being high reving. So, they are kind of contradicting themselves on both these points.

Who knows how the EFI will effect the power???? It might be a fire breathing dragon that challenges the 450 class, and maybe not........
