If the red light comes on, shut your quad down!
Let it idle for a while and the fan will come on when it heats up. The fan will come on when you're riding but there is no way to see or hear it when you're riding.

with my experience when the fan comes on you can actually feel the increased air flow moving past your legs, that is with shorts on... Also I have riden in 115 degree arizona weather and it usually doesnt come on uless I have been beating on it and let it sit and idle.... ALSO DO NOT EVER LET THE RED LIGHT COME ON IT MEANS YOUR OVERHEATING SHUT IT DOWN IMEDIATELY....

If it overheat's you'll feel it on your leg's even when wearing pant's, on my old 86' trx 350 foreman the themostat quit working the first month i had it; and the fan wasn't coming on at all. But i could tell when it was overheating long before the temp light came on , i would shut it down and let it cool off ! Do like the first guy on the first reply said, let it sit and idle for about 30 minutes if the fan doesn't come on by then your themostat is bad !..............williebee

we have an 04 and an 05 and ya got ta reallly run it hard or in mud or let it idle a very long time in hot weather it has a oil cooler on it too! that is why it will run good in race mode with mud and slow speed high demand racing and not blow up like the half breed crf 450 dirt bike quads do! dont worry about it its a great set up! no offence to the half breed crf riders , but i dont like to baby my quad that much!wfo!!!
