Default Angle Sensor System

My fourwheeler has been acting up and some of u have been so kind too give me the dianostic codes. My fourwheeler is a 04 honda rancher es. Well I matched the codes up with the amount of blinks which was three and the codes read it was angle senor system. So my next question is, what next? Does this mean I need a new angle sensor and are the cheap and can I replace it my self.

the angle sensor itself is around 50 dollars, and they are a piece of cake to replace, it's under a little tin shield down on the front of the engine, by the shift motor. It has a 3 -wire plug in on it.

and angle sensor code could mean a faulty ECM, sensor, or wiring. Use an ohm-meter to check continuity of all 3 wires, make sure the connections are clean and dry, use electrical grease on the connectors before plugging them back in, but most likely it's going to need a new angle sensor, it's a moving part that simply wears out.

I just got a notice from Honda in the mail about the shift angle sensor. There is a recall on them. ( i'm in canada, and have an 04 fourtraxx 350es)
SO ask your dealer about this.....my notice said they will repllace the angle sensor for you, parts and labour.
Good Luck.
