Default Oil in stator flywheel side of engine.

I crawled under my 250r to change the oil. I noticed oil dripping from the flywheel alternator cover gasket. So I took the cove off and was full of oil. It shouldn't have oil in it? If so where did it come from. I pretty sure its transmission oil.
