Default Adding LCD to rancher 4x4 manual

I have seen some post on the possibility of adding the factory lcd to a manual shift rancher. However, does anyone know where I can purchase one of these without paying an arm and a leg through Honda? I have a 2004 Rancher 4x4 350 manual shift. Are there atv salvage yards out there that I may be able to get the LCD screen, harness and all mounting hardware for a descent price?

I have no idea if it can be done, but what are you considering too expensive? Babbits sells the new LCD, which they call a meter assembly, for $186.90. Course, you will need sensors and wiring, etc.

If your patient you will probably find a used one on ebay. I see them for the Rincon every now and then. Sometimes the seller is parting one out and would more than likely have everything you would need.

Thanks. Do you know if it will have to come off of a Rancher or will other models work? Also, is all of the plugs there on the manual model to where I will be able to just mount it and plug it to the factory harness?

Sound like a big pain in the **** for a display, yeah they are nice but you would have to switch the main wiring harness ECU's install speed sensors ect... ect... That is alot of work for a display but If you really want to do it knock yourself out. I would invest my money in go fast parts but that is just my opinion.

If you are just concerned on speed display, get an inexpensive GPS unit and mount it on the bars. I don't know if the 04 Rancher has the 12v outlet but I know the 05s do and that is what I did. I bought a cheap Garmin Etrex along with a handle bar mount and a 12v adapter. Works pretty good and has to be cheaper than trying to install a factory LCD unit.
