well, if you wanna do it right, when i airbrush things(done 2 frame and lots of quad related parts)i first either sandblast it or sand it down with a power drill attach it. if you put paint over a finish coat it can chip easier. i first put a primer on, then 3-4 coats leaving a day to dry in between. then put a clear coat on(finish coat) to give it the shinning look. spray paint will work, but i recommend to do take to factory paint off. if you need any tips e-mail me

He could go to a auto paint dealer and get one of those 8 million colors himself too. I paint all my own stuff and get my paint from carquest. They sell PPG brand and it looks and holds up pretty good.
Frame painting isn't that hard, just gotta make sure everything is clean, and sanded first. Do like the one guy says, primer first, then do 3 or 4 layers of color. I like to let mine set more than 24 hours, but thats just me I guess. Also the clearcoat is a personal preference, sometimes it can be a little tricky to use. Just take your time if you decide to do it, don't be in any hurry.
