1991 TRX300FW No Spark

Well what I would first do is make sure you have a strong battery to be able to crank the quad over so check to see how many volts it is putting out...get a new sparkplug...and take the plug and keep it on the wire but outside of the engine and you need to ground it against either you frame or engine and see if it has any spark. If you could give a little more info about your quad that would be helpful like did it just all of the sudden do this or did you take something apart or you haven't ridden it for a while and it isn't getting any spark please inform us more and I could prob help you to figure out what the exactr problem is...to check to see if your stator is bad find the rectifier and disconnect the 3 yellow wires and see if it will start...also if you had messed with the quad you could have knocked a ground wires loose...or your killswitch or key switch could be bad there are man different things that could be bad so please get back thanks.

I have not rode the bike for awhile. The battery was dead so I replaced it. When I turn the key to on the neutral light comes on and the oil light lights for a moment then goes out. When I take the spark plug out and ground it at first there is no spark but what is strange is when I move the kill switch to run then off then run then off I get a spark. I have checked all the connections and have found that back by the battery there is a connector that has the green wire that is a little corroded. I cleaned it but still no spark. The other weird thing is if I push the start button and get it cranking the turn the key of and on I get a couple of sparks. I guess getting a manual would be the right thing to do.
