Default Need help choosing an exhaust system for my 400ex

I'm lookin for an exhaust system for my quad. I want the best performance possible out of it, don't care about sound levels. I've got no clue what would be the best choice, so I'm hoping someone can help me out! thanks! oh yea and i'm lookin at spending around $600 or less.

I've got the Yoshimura comp series exhuast on my 05 400ex and have been very happy with it. I run it without the spark arrestor on the track and open areas and put a HMF spark arrestor in for the tight trails and hill climbs. Rocky mountain atv has the full Yoshimura system for 359. You'll want to budget for at least a jet kit as well. A K&N filter would be a good investment too. You can get all 3 for under 600 and would only have to jet the carb once. If you get the filter later you'll have to jet it again.

I would recommend either white bros or hmf full system...or if they have a lte dual exhaust that would look pretty sweet and make sure you rejet and get an aftermarket airfilter should give you nice power gains

I have the Curtis Sparks on our EX and love the power and sound of it.If you go with Sparks($450),rev-box$65) and KN filterwith jetting($55)it comes to roughly $570.I have seen the Sparks with high flow filter and jetting on Ebay for $489 plus shipping. You will tell a major difference power wise! You can see how this exhaust looks on my page.

my hmf full set is nice. if you want it to be loud then it can roar, but it can also run fairly quiet (if you have the spark arrestor in and you arent hammering it)

You would get more out of the engine if you were to put a FCR carb on instead of the pipe. Yeah, the pipe sounds good and frees it up just a bit but doesn't do what the FCR carb and a cut airbox lid does.

I've already got some upgrades to it, k&n filter, modded airbox, and a racing chip. I'm not sure if the previous owner did anything with the carb. Anyone have any input on the LRD Pro4 exhaust?
