Superwinch vs Warn
#2
Just bought a Warn. Got one on my Jeep as well. They seem to last forever. I don't know much about Superwinch, but I wouldn't let a few bucks sway me, especially when dealing with recovery equipment. Somebody else chime in about Superwinch...

I had a superwinch on my first atv an 86' honda trx 350 foreman , it quit working a few month's before i sold it to my brother setember 2005 ; after brother bought we went over everything and found it to be the gound wire ! There was some rust on the frame we replaced the screw and sanded the rust from the frame , it now work's as good as new ; we also added a roller flairhead as it didn't have one when i bought it ! The honda came with the winch with the quad when it was new , if it hadn't and the cost wasn't to much more than the superwinch i would've gotten the warn ; but as it turned out the superwinch turned out to be a very good one !

i have a superwinch 2300 on my rancher. They also make like a 1500, but i would stay away from that because it's not an actual "atv" winch, the motor isnt sealed that great and the switch isn't a rocker type switch that mounts on the handle bar, it's one of those rotary type things that requires you to drill holes to mount it.
the superwinch 2300 is a much better design, actually made for atv's. it has a 2300lb pulling capacity (more than enough for my rancher) and has a handlebar mounted rocker swich for easy access. I've had mine for 2 years nou without any problems, and i would HIGHLY recommend it as an alternative to the much overrated warn winches.

I have a Warn that is over 20 years old and still works great... I call that reliable, not overrated

I've got Warn. I contract snow plow in the winter and wanted to make sure I had a winch with wouldn't leave my blade on the ground, or, in the air! I've only used my winch for recovery one time. I re-greased it last year, but, it didn't need it. All was fine on the inside, no worn gears, broken teeth, water damage, etc.
If your winch is mission critical, get the Warn. If it's just another accessory in the never ending struggle we all face to " . . . have more than the other guy . . . " then get a Gorilla, Ramsey, or Superwinch, in no particular order.
