what jet size for trx90 06
#2
The stock jet size(82 main, 40 slow) should work just fine for the stock TRX. I am getting ready to put on a Big Gun exhaust and Uni filter on her 06 TRX so I am going to put a 85 main and a 42 slow in it. Not sure if this is going to help but I hope the slow jet takes care of some of the hard starting issues on the TRX. I think I may even try to raise the needle with a shim to richen up the damm TRX as it is such a hard starting machine. The weird thing is that my 05 TRX400ex is the same way, so hard to start. Hope this helps some.

The 90 seems to run fine for my daughter. I feel like it lost a little top end though. That could be possible though as I had already taken the rear sprocket to a 48 tooth from the stock 50. I went with the 85 main and 42 pilot and that seems to run just fine and the big plus is that it starts up alot better. Hope this helps you. Oh, if you get the Big Gunn pipe, do not expect much help from their website as their tech support has never responded to any of my emails.

according to the Powroll web site they say the stock jets are 80 main, 40 pilot. anyway did you have to raise the needle or did you leave it alone? were did you get the washer to raise it? you said it feels slower on top end, shouldnt it be faster with the 48tooth?

The 82 main is stock for the 06 TRX 90, I believe there are two main jets for it depending on altitude and from what I saw in the service manual( the manual is in the garage so I could not tell you for sure right now). I had changed the sprocket some time back, almost a year ago, and just added the pipe about a month ago. I said that it feels like it lost top end to me, but my daughter says that it runs great, hard for me to tell as I really do not ride her TRX that much plus I weigh 240lbs. The pipe may have been designed to increase bottom and middle range power so I am not sure. All I know is that it runs better and starts better with the pipe on it and as long as she is happy, I am happy. Oh, it is hard to tell exactly what it is doing when she is always playing catch up with me on my R or my 400ex. Hope that helps some.

thanks for the info. i went to a dealer the other day they can get the big gun for about the same price as on ebay.thats the only one available for it other than the specialty companys. robbs racing has one but its black and he doesnt want that. white bros. says they have one for the 06 but its a missprint. its $184.00 i dont know what honda did to the 06 and 07 model that make it differant. im guessing because of the body plastic change the hangers are differant so it looks like the big gun is the only one availale. anyone correct me if im wrong. did you raise the needle ?

Sorry about that, I forgot to answer that question. No I did not raise the needle yet, but I may. The best place to get the washers is Radio Shack. They sell an assortment of washers in a pack, not sure of the part number but there is like 50 washers in there and the price is like 3 dollars or so. I have used them on my 110 and the 50. I got my pipe from Motosport with free 2nd day Fed EX. Hope that helps.

Not sure how the plastic for the new ones affects pipes but my daughter's '03 has an FMF Powerline muffler. It also has a Uni air filer and opened up (partially) air box. The main jet was drilled out a little and that was it. Starts and runs great.
