TRX90 Tire Recommendations
I was looking at changing my son's ATV tires, because of wear. I also wanted to change them from the balloon type to a more aggressive pattern such as the Maxxis Razr. I'm not sure if I will mess up the kids quad by changing the tire style that came with it. I buy most of my stuff from www.rockymountainatv.com. When I put in my son's quad and select the Maxxis Razr, this is what they give me:
Maxxis Razr MX 20x6x10 - 2004 Honda trx 90 (Front)
Maxxis Razr MX 18x10x8 - 2004 Honda trx 90 (Rear)
However, I am a little worried about buying these tires because compared to the OEM Ohtsu tires currently on it, the size is somewhat off. The OEM Ohtsu Tires are:
Ohtsu 20x7-8 - 2004 Honda trx 90 (Front)
Ohtsu 19x8-8 - 2004 Honda trx 90 (Rear)
From this I assume I will have to buy new rims as well....so...
Should I change the tires out from the stock or keep stock?
Thanks in advance for posting,

Go with the new tires E70! You are going to lose a bit of ride quality and ground clearance, but are going to gain handling and stability in the process. With those sizes, new rims will be needed. If that is how you go, make sure to get rims with a wider offset than stock. My son has a TRX90 also, and I have been thinking of throwing the rears on the front for more width and buying Razrs mounted on new rims for the back. I haven't checked yet to see if the rear rims will have any mounting issues yet though. WHen I bought his '96 used, it had brand new stock tires on the back though, and they are still in excellent shape. Let me know how it goes

I just put a set of ITP rims and tires on my boys 90 they are,
20x6x10 and 18x10x8 Holeshot MX's tires.
He lost a lot of speed he now just starts out in third gear. The quad handles a lot better and is a lot more stable but the trade off is not worth it. The ground clearance is just about gone and rides rougher.
I tried to get different sprockets to change the gearing but could not find them.
I thinking about going to the Kenda scorpion 20x10x8 and the Maxxis Front Pro 21x7x10 with the ITP rims to get the speed, ride and ground clearance back. The two ply tires will make it ride a lot better to.
If you want the 20x10x8 Scorpion?s and the 20x7x8 Front pros will fit on the stock rims. That might be the way to go.
11 inch rears will hit the exhaust so you are stuck with the 10 inch rear.

E70, I just seen these new Maxxis tires on the 2007 Kawasaki KFX90 and they look like the perfect ire for the my daughter's 06 TRX90. They are squared just like the razers but similiar to the stock tread on my 400ex. Plus I think they are the same size as the stock tires, maybe 1 inch less wide. The problem is I contacted Maxxis about them to find out the model number and they told me to contact the Kawasaki Dealer. That comment kinda pissed me off and makes me second guess buying their products if that is the customer support that you would get from a company. I do not know if that helps any but just thought I'd put my 2 cents in.

Irunwire, what happens a lot of the time is that a manufacturer will contract a tire company to design a tire for them. Often times there are agreements made as to distribution rights and so on. Maxxis simply may not be selling that model to the public due to a contractual obligation with Kawasaki, however a Kawasaki dealer could sell them to you(probably with a crazy markup )
