o4 rubicon shift problem
#1
This is my first letter ever to a atv forumn. I bought an 04 rubicon in march this year. In July I started the atv and only got the flashing error message on my display screen. The atv went into fail-safe mode. After hours of head scratching I found a loose connector to my angle sensor and after re-connecting everything worked again. 3 weeks ago I was riding in the snow and I got the same flashing message and had a long slow ride home. I now own a manual and reailize what the flashing message and error codes are all about. I have an error code 6 indicated and have gone through the steps on the troubleshooting guides un-succesfully. My question is when I take off the angle sensor you can see the angle sensor joint. Mine does not appear to be in the same position as all the pictures in the manual indicate. If the front of the quad is 12 oclock, all the manuals show the angle sensor joint lined up between 12 and 6 O'clock. Mine is lined up between 3 o'clock and nine o'clock and I am able to turn it only slightly, definately not to the 12-6 position indicated in the manual. This throws of the resistance reading of the angle position sensor, and is probably the reason I cannot clear my shifting error. Any ideas ? Is Something stuck in the " hondamatic"
