More than likely it wasn't setup properly. Southern Honda sells about a hundred 4 wheelers in a week. So some things could get over looked to get them out quick. But also if your dealer gives you a hard time about serviceing it, just call Southern Honda and tell them. They will either get in touch with Honda for you or get you in touch with them. All Honda dealers have to service them even if they came from someone else.

Hello all, I'm new here. Wife bought me a new Rancher AT for Christmas. What a disappointment! We drove 450 miles round trip to Chattanooga Tn. to buy it ,saved $1300 over local dealers. Got it home engine will not run without being choked, called Chattanooga dealer they said it just needs running. After 106 miles Transmission breaks, engine still not running right. I take it to my nearest dealer he says I have to wait 3 weeks before he will even look at it because I didn't buy from him. I contact my next nearest dealer he says he will take care of it, he fixes tranny (shift motor) takes carb apart and cleans it but can't find anything wrong. As of 1/20/07 I have ridden my atv 3 days and it has been in the shop for 22 days still have not gotten it back. I wish I had my money back.

If the dealer told you it will be 3 weeks to look at it because you did not buy it from him ask him for American Honda's phone number and call and lodge a complaint. Any vehicle made by american honda(weather car or atv or motorcycle) is under the same kind of plan, the dealer fixes anything under warrenty in a timely fashion, the last thing Honda wants is to have an irate customer calling them to complain about a dealer. The service manager will have a note on his desk the next morning and you will probably have a phone call that same day to bring your quad in and let them have a try. After one time of doing this usually a dealer will straighten up a little, at least for a while and will remember that you are someone who is not afraid to pick up a phone and tell someone about bad treatment.

Wrong my friend! Honda dealers are not in business to do service work first. 32 days and counting still have not got it fixed. Have called Honda customer service two times. I am 48 years old and have bought numerous trucks, cars, tractors,atvs,cycles,etc... my first Honda though. I have never in my life gotten such a lemon and run around from dealers. Honda dealers in the middle Georgia area are the worst I have ever seen.

Yes, I tried adjusting the idle screw the first day or so but if I got it to idle w/o choke then after you shut it off the engine would not start. The dealer has had it for the last 32 days, I sure hope the mechanic at the Honda dealer knows how to adjust the idle. I wish I had it financed with Honda....they would be coming to Ga. to get a 4 wheeler. Something to think about... Southern powersports in Chattanooga does not do financing through Honda, I wonder why?
