rubicon, or rincon??????

But, a Rincon will work when needed. Some say it needs a low range, but I would say that the owner of the Polaris 800 and the owner of the Rhino that I rode with recently would say otherwise. The Rhino had quit running at the bottom of a steep trail that we were on and the Popo was trying to pull it up but could not budge it up the hill (very nasty rocky hill) so he hooked his winch cable to my Rincon. It took some doing but when the tires dug in (yes, all 4 were pulling) we got it done.

the reason that i am torn is because i like both work and play. i really want the low range, i do like slow rock crawling and steep climbs. i also like to haul *** when i want, my family all has polaris 500's. they can go pretty good speed wise, and they have a low range to pull. i want to be able to pull out a elk during huntiung season, you need low end torqe for that. BUT i lke the idea of fuel injection a lot, my experiances with the independent suspension is that on steep hills the quad is a lot more tipsey versus solid axle, plus with a lot of weight on the machine the independdent will bottom out esier than the solid axle. i probably sound like a whiner, but i don't want to blow 8000 dollars on a quad that i won't like. and i love honda's. i have owned a lot and that is my quad of chioce. but if anybody has had the experiance pulling a lot of weight up hill or period, with rincon, how was it? i know that the rub would not have an issue at all. i really appreciate youre guys thoughts and comments. it means a lot and i am thinking hard on every thing you are saying.

In my experience I wouldn't hesitate to pull an elk up a steep hill with a Rincon. Between the motor making torque off idle, and the transmission's torque converter engaging gradually, it does fine.
IRS wise, yeah it does lean a bit more in fast corners or off-camber stuff. I feel the need to lean my body a bit more. On the other hand, on the big steep rock crawls, I've found there seem to be quite a few rocks in the height range that will smack my differential that the Rincon will clear.
I hear that. Maybe you could find a buddy who would let you ride one? I see you are down by Redmond. Lots of folks ride the East Fork Rock area/Millican over east of Bend...
