Advice for first time ATV buyer

El Paso, I'm shocked to hear you say a Raptor feels to bulky for a 6+ 200+ guy.... O.K... Buddy, all you can do is get on as many different bikes as you can. Really think what it is you want to do (Race or Dune ? Big difference) when considering any budget requirements or even personal life style. Here's a simple question, are you a natually competetive person ? If you are, you will not be happy with a 400 after a few rides. If your buddies have 450's or Raps and they continue to smoke you up the hills and it bothers you, than the answer is obviuos.
If your comfortable knowing you have a great all-around bike, saving 1K, and laugh at your knuckle head friends (I would be on of those) who insist the first one to the top is the best (we never grow up). Then get a 400 (SUZ my choice). My rocommendation, pick a 450 (your not a little dude). You will easily spend 1500-2000 to get a 400 to keep up. If it's important to you that you keep up ??????????
Have fun and ride safe

first of all.....i'm not your homeboy. second of all if you want more proof search this site. i wasn't trying to make them out to be like the old 2 strokes, i was just giving my opinion based off of information i learned from more knowledgable people than myself in the sport. i could have got real nasty with this but you know what, i've got better things to do than argue with the children of the corn. go buy your 450 "96U", Hoyt said so!
