Default easy power tips for 2006 Rubicon

I have two 2006 Rubicons. They are my first ATV purchase as an adult. Anyone have any easy to do tips for getting more power. When I am in deep mud I run ES Low Range because that is where it has the most power. I have 26" ITP Mud lite tires and when I get into some good thick mud it really seems to be tough to make those tires keep moving.

I don't want to get into anything extreme... wondering if there is anything simple that can help out a bit.

An HMF pipe and K/N air filter along with jetting will do wonders for some extra power. But if you want a little more off the line response, Then remove the top of your carb (4 screws). Remove the spring inside and count off 10-11 coils and cut the spring. Then replace the longer piece back in the carb. Becareful not to pinch the diapharm. This doesn't add horsepower, just throttle response. You will feel the difference and its free.

I think throttle response is what I am looking for... I will definately try that.

HMF pipe is a type of muffler I assume. I am new to atv mecahnics but worked on cars for several years. If it has nuts and bolts I can figure it out.... usually. :-)

Yeah the HMF is a muffler, barely. It is very loud but arguably makes the most power. And they do have a quiet core that will calm it down. Also it is very simple to install. If you can turn a wrench then you can do just about anything on an ATV. But do try the carb spring. I think you will be pleased. If not a new spring from Honda is like $8. Just an example. When I bought my 05 Rincon it was stock. But had ITP wheels and 589 tires. Very heavy tires. It would not wheelie at all. I clipped the spring and tried it again and it pulled them about a foot off the ground. That made a believer out of me. Especially when I put stock rims and tires and it would hit the back rack. Best of all its FREE.

Okay, I just clipped the spring and it helped. I did not get a rack rubbing wheelie, but when I put it in low range the tires did get very light in the front. :-)

I think that will take care of most of what I wanted... getting my tires turning easier at low speed in the mud, but now that I have read about the muffler I have to figure out which one to get now.

Any input on which one would give me the all around best performance? I really would rather not be obnoxiously loud... my truck wakes the neighbors as it is . :-) I do not mind louder than stock.. would like a deep, throaty sound sort of like a dynamax performance on a truck. Not straight pipe sound like I have on my truck.

I think a FMF is a good compromise, it is quieter than an HMF, gives good power, is stainless steel construction, etc.
