I have a 250x and my friend has a warrior in perfect condition. 2000. I can beat him in a straigh away drag unless it is a few miles down the road but that is b/c he cant ride worth beans. He quad is faster. I think it is way easier to ride wheelies on mine. Mine has ten time better suspesion and handling it is amazing how heavy a warrior is. I love my x.PLus for the price of a warrior you could make a bad #$$ x

Dirt Wheels June '99 said this, Handling=300ex, Top speed=Warrior, Tight trails=300ex,Warrior fits larger riders,Warrior is elec. startw/no backup, Drag race=warrior, susp.=300ex,jumping=300ex,maintenance=300ex,warrio r has a 2 valve head so it will not respond as well to mods. although there is no relacement for displacement. The warrior weighs 20 ib. more than 300ex. I know the 250x is not the same as a 250x but I also know they are not much different. I do not know anyone pesonally who has owned a warrior but I know 2 peole who have owned 250x. they seem to be a great machine.

Give me a break, everyone is saying straight lines? I use to own a 300ex and 250x and they (modified) will smoke any warrior because of the weight. It is a better machine on the Track, woods...basicly anywhere but in the straigh away. ANd if you want a DRAG quad, then dont go w/ a warrior or 300ex.

i have a bone stock 96 warrior, my only performance mod was to remove the exhaust baffle. i know 2 kids with 250x's and one with a 300ex. yes, the honda's are faster in a drag race and in top speed. the machines are very different though. i am 6'6" tall and a 300/250 feel like riding 50's to me. they have no low end power when compared to the warrior. the 250's are all top end, that is why they will win in the straight line races. as far as wheelies go, the warrior is much longer and that is why it doesn't wheelie as well as the 250/300. as far as reliability goes, mine has been rolled off of 75 foot hillclimbs, with no damage other that a bent clutch lever and bent handlebars. the warrior is very tough. the only downfall is the chain adjustment and air filter set ups. the warrior motor likes to be lugged, because it produces all of its power in the low rpms unlike the hondas. if you are small, buy the honda, if you are large, get the yamaha, if you are in between you'll have to decide for yourself. as for the proce difference, the yamaha's aren't that much more and will sustain wahtever punishment you will put it through
Bottom Line- They are all 3 GREAT machines!

Stick with the X! I have had many X's in the past and have a lot of friends that have them also, plus a few friends with Warriors. The X is a better machine all around hands down! Warriors are too heavy and bulky. My 87 X (bone stock engine that is 13 years old) beats both my friends brand new Warriors with WB pipes. The extra cash for the Warrior is a waste! Plus you can build the X a lot better than you can build a Warrior. We used to race TT alot. My brother had quite a bit of engine work done to his X and there was a guy out there that had everything you could do to a Warrior and my brother smoked him! The guy was a good rider also, so it wasn't one of those different rider situations.
Stick with the X and put some cash into it, you will be alot happier!
One more senario for ya. My one friend had a 88 X with a Curtis Sparks 267 Stroker which was a few years old. THis bike would hang with 400's and totally smoke Warriors!!! No competition!!
