Default Rancher 420 back rack

I got a question. Have they beefed up the back rack on the new rancher vs the old rancher? The reason I ask is because there is somebody that I go riding with and he has a 350 rancher. We went out to Utah and rode the Pauite Trail. Of course we had to pack everything on the atv's. The person who has the 350 had maybe 100 pounds or less on the back rack and the bolts that hold it on broke off on both sides.

I drive a Rubicon and I had probably 150 to 200 pounds on mine and the racks held up. We got looking at the mine and his and mine has two bolts on each side and the rancher only has one on each side. Have they made the racks any stronger on the new 420?

Went out to the garage and looked, and my Rancher 350 and my new 420 both have TWO bolts on each side!

Where are you looking at? Where I'm talking about is above the rear wheel. Can you take a picture of it because I was sure he had only one bolt in his unless we are talking about two different places?

I think this domonstrates something important, and that is that people try to do to much with this machine. The Rancher is just a nice little trail bike. It isn't a heavy work quad or a monster mud bogger. Just go out and have fun trail riding it! If you need huge tires or need to haul heavy loads, it's the wrong tool for the job and you need to step up to a bigger machine!

Well, my Rancher 350 is an 00. They did do a body change somewhere along the line, and the bolt pattern may have changed with the bodywork change???? What year is your buddies machine???

I looked last night in the dark and in the light of day, the 350 actually has THREE bolts! One in the front and two in the back.....but both under the wheelwell. The 420 has one bolt in front, and they put the other single bolt out on the rear of the machine.

I am not sure what year his is. I will have to ask him.

The bolts that I am talking about are in the same place, under the wheelwell and they are on top of each other.

Is it possible for you to take a picture of where you are talking about?
