I have two 2000 Rancher ES's 2x4 & 4x4.If they sit in my garage for a month unridden the 4x4's battery will drain to the point that it will turn over very slowly and It will need recharged overnight so it will start. The 2x4 will start right up with virtually no loss in battery power.Could I have a bad battery or a short???I will next try swapping batteries to see what happens.I did check for a short with my meter and it showed 1.015 Ma on 2x4 and 1.8Ma on 4x4.The Honda service manual says it should not exceed 1.0 Ma drain.Any advice would be greatly apreciated.

You could have a bad battery. Try and disconnect the battery next time you let it set for what ever time you normal do for the problem to occur. then when you go to start it if you have the same problem it's the battery. if not then your quads system is draining it. then the best way to isolate it would be to start removing fuses to isolate the system that is causing the drain. it would be a long process but it will get you to the source of the problem.
