Does anyone know what the voltage should be on the ignition coil of an 84 TRX200? I have been working on one I got basically for free and I don't have any spark but it seems like I should.

I used an oscilloscope to measure the peak voltage going from the CDI to the coil and the coil is getting a little over 150v when I pull the recoil starter. This seems to me like it should be plenty but I do not have any spark. I have tried two different coils and wires to the plug but neither seem to work.

The only thing I haven't done is measure the actual voltage at the plug because I am using an oscilloscope that belongs to the company I work for and I don't want to take a chance at damaging it. (I know the voltage output from some coils can be really high.)

Everything seems to ohm out fine. Besides if the exciter coil or pulse generator were not working properly then I don't think the CDI would not be putting out the 150v that it's currently outputting to the coil. Resistance (ohm) measurements don't always tell the entire story especially if there is a grounding issue.

Do those tests specify a peak voltage from the CDI? If so could you please look that up for me. I would really appreciate it. I am just probing the output with an oscilloscope while pulling on the recoil starter and would love to know if the peak voltage I am measuring is as high as it should be. Thanks.
