Default compatable cylinoid?

I have a 300ex that needs a cylinoid, i have to drive an hour to order it, then again to pick it up. I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of someone useing a ford truck cylinoid? Do u think there will be any voltage issues? Seems easy enough to install, but really hoping for some feed back. It would save me about $40 and a week of waiting.

the battery in your 300ex is much smaller than a truck battery, so it might have issues engaging the solenoid, but it's worth a try i guess. That ford solenoid is much bigger, so it might pull more amps than the circuit on your 300ex was made for, it might blow the fuse or smoke the wiring, but that's a chance you'll have to take.

It will work as long as you ground the monuting tabs on the solenoid to metal on the quad ,,I did it on my 300 fourtrax and it still works, THE OLD FORDS HAVE THE TALL ROUND solenoids and the later ford have the Short round ones, I used the short round witha single start wire. orange on your honda i think.
