I am looking at a 99 honda 400ex. Are there generally any problems with these or anything I should change? I had a yamaha blaster when I was 12 so I am pretty familiar with atv's. Should I be putting anything else on it? And what should I be looking for when he comes???? like cracks in swingarm and a arms and stuff???


THIS IS WHAT IT HAS FOR PARTS:

Black race plastics but the stock front ones are on because the race plastics do not have a head light

New tires with no holes

Front and rear grab bars (aluminum)

Nerf bars with foot pegs built in to them

Tether kill switch

Nacs racing seat cover and graphics kit on the race plastics

Tag bars (heavy duty)

New clutch cable and lever

New prm rear axel carrier with bearings

New chain (high strength)

New front sprocket toothed down for more torque

New front brakes

New rear brakes

New rear brake disk

Fairly new rear rims

Shock covers (red)

Steering dampener (rebuild able) but is in great shape

Case saver in case the chain breaks it won?t crack the case

Swing arm skid plate ? thick



Engine:

As far as the engine goes its mostly stock.

high compression piston

Lrd full system exhaust pipe (Header and all)

Carb is jetted to the pipe and is the best combination you can put on it.

K&N filter too


and a barnette dirt digger clutch kit

Also, with all the parts, how much would you guys pay for it if its clean?

 

they are bulletproof when stock but with all the mods iam not sure.....

 

i wouldnt give him more than $3000 for it

 

well I am trading my snowmobile for it and its probably worth 2000-2500 so thatll be good and ill probably be profiting. Im giving him 100 dollars though because he is driving 3 hrs to meet me at my house and im not doing any driving.

 

Not bad lol...good dealing...$100 is a good price for him coming to your house with how high gas is..

 

sounds like it was beat to $hit, I'd stay away from it unless he was giving it away.

 

I am trading my snowmobile for it and its never been raced. If its in crappy condition, I will just tell the guy to turn around and go home. Simple as that. He said the machine is rock solid and it only has 30 hrs on a rebiuld.
