I have a 1996 300ex with a FMF Megamax II exhaust, K&N jet kit and Uni filter. I figured my quad had enough low end so I went with the 14t c/s sprocket. The difference is not huge, but I wouldn't recommend it with a stock setup. I'm thinking of going with a slightly larger rear sprocket, since it's easy to change. The c/s sprocket is easy to change, too. Try it.

The best way to gear your machine is to remember that to gain all out top speed go with a larger front sprocket and a smaller rear.
A large front sprocket will give you a higher top speed providing you have a smaller rear spocket.
The larger front will make more revolutions at the rear.
Okay, I'm probably getting nowhere with you just remember that the front sprocket produces the speed and the rear produces the torque.
