When do you change your tires?

i change mine when they won't hold air, and the plugs want to fall out. and when i say won't hold air, i mean 3 cans of fix of flat and it still is flat within 20 miles, my tires were way past bald

Before the first ride!
On most quads and dirt bikes, the stock tires are pretty lame. They are often there to meet a price point, and not because they are the best choice. On most of my quads, I change out the rubber before I even take the first ride. The exception is my Ranchers and the TRX90, where I have kept the stockers and am happy with them.
I know, you are asking about when they are worn out. When worn, I would change them early if you can afford it, but if money is an issue ride them until they aren't giving good traction anymore.

I ride both desert and mountain woods trails, so on my big sport quads I am running ITP Holeshot XC's, size 22X7-10 front, and 20X11-9 rear.
It has been 10 years since I owned a 300EX, but as I recall it came with very lame 22" tall rear tires. I gave up a little ground clearance when I went to the 20" tires, but liked the increase in stability and lower effective gearing.
