Default 400ex with 450r carb, help me fit it!

Okay, so i have a 400ex bored out to a 440ex. I have a wiesco piston, a stage 2 hot cam, a yosh. full exhasust system. then i took it to pismo, and with in an hour it started getting oil everywhere. i blew a chunk out of the head gasket. When looking future into, it didnt seem if the barrel was decked properlly, it was not completly flush, could that have caused it? So any way, i went out and got a cometic head gasket and while i was at it, i figured i needed a stronger carb. To save money i went with a stock 450r carb, i heard it works. I cant get the metal tube from the 400ex gas tank to reach the 450r carb, let alone, if i can make something reach it, the choke will be completly strapped down. What do i do?? How did you guys get yours to fit? i heard this was a popular/common modification. thanks alot
heres some pics of my prob

okay, you can fix the fuel line by going to autozone and getting the right size rubber fuel line and proper hose clamps. . .as for the choke, i dunno. . .i got Fuel injected because of that right there...

First off, your tires are not on backwards, that is the way they are designed to go.
Like kredz said, get a longer fuel line and run it from the tank petcock to the carb. New clamps are a good idea too.
As for the choke lever, you are probably going to have to cut it shorter so it has room to pivot. This will make it harder to reach but I see no other options. Maybe modify a new one so that the lever goes back instead of farward.
Good luck.

I don't know what you guys think but if you ask me...your installing a larger carb so i mean if you have a full 'yoshi' exhaust and the 450 Carb, im sure you know that youll need to re-jet and set your fuel screw properly. The chunk that blew out was deffinetly from not having the head flushed in perfect. Air is pushing in different directions through the carb, intake, etc (if not set flushed in) know what i mean? As far as the connection , the longer attachment hose would work and the 'choke' you probably wont even need it anymore if your going with a 450Carb into a 400EX... For example my ride (TRX 450ER) i have a full TC Racing exhaust & Sparks filter kit (lid off)...i had to run/replace a longer needle(Yamaha) 2nd clip from bottom( located on top lid of carb) 175 Main jet (located in the bottom of carb/float bowl), pilot & leak jets are stock and the Air Fuel screw (located next to the Main 175 Jet) is turned 3 full turns "OUT" from the bottom out...And with these settings, i don't even need to choke when i start up. Remeber to play with your fuel screw (don't go up to 5 turns out from bottom or it will fall off) And set your idle while blipping on your throttle to get it as rich as you can. Im sure you know all this, im just trying to help. I needed help in the past and this web site came through for me. So im just trying to give back some of what "i" think is proper.
