bigboy400ex,
Where did you see that they retail at $5799? All I have ever seen for retail was $5699. Also, where did you come up with the idea that $5300 was the dealer cost?! Do you own a dealership? I would have guessed that cost was less than $5000!

These atv's now have titles, so you are going to pay tax! If you go to an out of state dealer, you have to pay tax when you get home. I would love to see the paper work on the 4,999 out the door ex with no tax!
There is no more not paying tax, you now have a title. If you didn't pay tax, the IRS will talk to you in the spring. This is another way the Gov. makes sure they get their money, now that they issue titles, someone pays tax even when you sell it used, because the title has to be transferred to someone else.
I have a good friend that is a salesman for Honda, and the dealer pays about 5,000 - 5,300 (depending on time of year and demand) for a 400ex, the mark up is not that high.
Not counting tax, the list is 5,699, + dock fee and setup, that gets to about 5,900 + tax. Someone said the dealer pays about 4,500 for one, that would be 1,400 profit + tax! That is not the case, hell, car dealers don't make that kind of profit on a $20,000 dollar car!
