Ok, I have a pretty nice 250X, but as usual it is not fast enough. I was going to start getting a few things here and there, but then had an idea.

I was thinking of just buying my brothers 2K 400EX and then sell my 250X.. This way it would be fast enough(for now) and I would have a newer quad. The bad thing is that I will have a monthly payment added to my out go and my girlfriend is not agreeing with my strategy here.

The way I look at it, I would need to spend about $2000-$3000 grand or so on my X to make it compete with a built 400. Or I could spend a little more now and have a 400EX....

What would you do, build up the X slowly as I planned or go for the 400EX. I can afford the extra payment, but the little woman believes I should be thinking about our future....

I'd say relationships go first.

I 'd say forget the girlfriend and buy the quad,
she'll get over it.

I'd buy the 400ex instead of modifying the 250x. A stock 400ex will be a lot more reliable, plus better handeling, suspension, and you can modify it later to make it faster.
