Default 416 head gasket

I just bought a 87mil JE 12:1 piston and had the cylinder punched out.. can I use a standard bore head gasket?

You can, but an 89mm head gasket works better. I have 87 and 88mm 40-ex's running the 89mm head gasket.

If the 12:1 piston comes up and hit the 85mm head gasket, it would be good.

Is that a misprint or did you say it would be good if the piston hit the gasket? Yeah I put my 85mil that I already bought on my bored cylinder and it was smaller than the cylinder for sure.. Who sell 89mm Head gaskets?

I think what he was tryin to say is if the piston hit the gasket & opened it up to 87mm it would be good! Figure of speech. :&gt
