Hi all, I am just finishing this project and had the motor running, but the kill switch did not work so i had to choke it to death, anyway after finally getting it out of the garage and riding it around a bit, i shut it off by choking it and then it would not start. Looks like it has no spark. What i am wondering is can i use a 88 250x cdi to test if its the cdi? are they interchangable? i have seen some hot cdi's for 300ex, would 1 of them be a good choice if i need to get another cdi for this 350x motor?

Are you sure you didn't kill the plug? Choking it floods it with fuel and plug will not spark. Could always stall it with the clutch instead of choking it till you get it fixed right.

 

checkin the oil in my 87 trx 250, do i screw in the dipstick and check it or do i just stick it in and pull it out?

You need a 350x CDI from what I read about the conversion. Check out powroll.com they sell a kit that tells you how to wire it up. Also mention if you use a 300ex chassis you need 350X harness or 250X harness.
